Binomial Test (For Preferences)
This calculator can be used to determine respondents´ preference when testing two products or services i.e. it will indicate whether there is a significant preference between the two or whether they achieve parity.
If you have a number of people who have no preference either way these are usually divided evenly between the two options on the basis they would be equally likely to choose either.
How To Interpret The Results
For example, suppose you carried out a survey with 150 respondents and it is of interest to test the preference between a current product on the market and a new product under development, at the 95% confidence level.
The number of respondents preferring the first product/service = 82
The number of respondents preferring the second product/service = 68
Using a 95% confidence level indicates that there is not a significant difference between the two products and they achieve parity.
